BREEAM

The 'Environmental Assessment Method' of buildings was originally developed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), a British research organization, hence the name BREEAM. It is a research organisation comparible to the Dutch organisation TNO.
BREEAM sets a standard for a sustainable building and, consequently, indicates the score of this building has according to the standard. The objective is to analyse and improve buildings. Using interior sun shading you can achive, based on the BREEAM-NL-HEA 3, one credit.
The application of sun shading prevents glare caused by bright sunlight. The BREEAM-NL HEA 3 standard determines that a fabric should have a certain extent of glare control properties. Only fabrics with a 'glare' classification of 3 or 4 are considered to meet the standards for the BREEAM-NL certificate. Fabrics with a 'glare' classification of 3 provide a clear view. Fabrics with a 4 classification are completely room darkening and are often used for meeting rooms.
